Government spokesman Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş has said the
draft for granting Turkish citizenship to foreign investors has been completed.
The statement came on Monday in a press conference held shortly after the
meeting of the Council of Ministers. Accordingly, the citizenship path will be
opened to those who provide employment and do not sell acquired real estate for
three years. The topic of granting Turkish citizenship to foreign investors has
been on the government's agenda for a while, but with the latest development
studies on this subject matter are likely to come to an end.
Accordingly, a draft study on foreign investors who make fixed investments in Turkey
in any amount, buy and do not sell the acquired real estate for three years,
provide employment to a certain number of persons in the place of business, and
do not withdraw their money for three years, has come to an end. Kurtulmuş
noted that the details of the matter, to be decided by the Council of
Ministers, will be clarified in the coming days.
